About Me

Hi, I'm Rick Harrison (but a lot of people call me "Tricky").

I first got into photography about 8 years ago when, on a whim, I took an evening classes in black and white film photography at Leeds College of Art & Design, which taught me the basics of camera usage and composition (along with developing/printing film - not so useful these days). After that I had a lapse of a couple of years before buying a good digital SLR around 4 years ago and haven't looked back since.

Most of my work involves the great outdoors - while I live in a city (Leeds), i'm happiest exploring the fantastic surrounding countryside - Leeds is blessed with being on the door-step of 3 of the UK's finest national parks - The Yorkshire Dales, The North Yorks Moors and The Peak District National Parks (and only a relatively short drive from The Lake District too).

I've also been branching out into local tourism-related photography (having licenced images to a number of Yorkshire councils) - taking photos of popular locations and events (the quirkier the better!) - trying to represent them in fun and interesting ways.

Part of my motivation with photography is capturing the beauty or interest of the places I visit, hopefully through the images you'll wish you were there too.
